Serena Williams standing up for herself while referee accuses her of cheating. She had been docked points for coaching that didnât happen.
This is soâŠ.so much deeper than whatâs on the surface.
This umpire basically accused her of cheating! And penalized her for his accusations. This is touchy for Serena being that they have been conspiring against her for the longest with the whole drug testing. Sheâs had it with them opposing her with no merit or basis! SHE HAS NEVER CHEATED which has been proven time after time with those negative results. and to accuse her of that during this game is why she is extremely and rightfully emotional! The pain and humiliation in her voice says it all. It really hurt her for him to accuse her of that so publicly too. He announced it during the match on the mic to everyone and now thatâs like a stain on this moment forever. Thatâs why sheâs demanding he apologize to her and say it over the loudspeaker. To set the record straight that she didnât do what he alleged.
Honestly she has faced the most her entire career and her mental fortitude to endure it and still be dominant is a miracle. ALWAYS A QUEEN
(this match was painful & angering to watch)
Whatâs even more annoying is that later on in the game, she got even more frustrated (both due to this and the fact that her and her opponent were playing INCREDIBLY GOOD GAMES!) and smashed her racket, and was docked points. When she called the umpire a thief, he decided to make a power play and cost her a whole game.
Not only did he try to steal this moment from Serena, he also cast a shadow over what shouldâve been an AMAZING victory for 20 year old Naomi Osaka, a Haitian-Japanese player whoâs the first Japanese Player to win a Grand Slam tournament.
This umpire literally cast a huge stain over this moment for both of these women, all because a black woman spoke to him in a tone he didnât like. Never in tennis has there been such a severe penalization for something like being called a âthiefâ when thereâs a well-documented history of male tennis players saying much worse.
yesterday this girl in my academic writing class sits down next to me and puts 3 bananas on the desk (which was jarring by itself) and i had two bananas in my backpack so i wanted to see if she would notice if i added those to her banana pile when she wasnât looking and when she finally looked back at the bananas she sighed and said really quietly to herself âoh my godâŠi have so manyâŠâ and put all five of them in her backpack

When my cousin Olivia was three, she started preschool and became best friends with a boy named Abraham. Most people called him Abe, even then, because Abraham is a mouthful for a three year old and, to most people, itâs the logical nickname.
Not, however, according to Olivia, who decided to nickname him Ham.
No oneâs really sure whether she wasnât totally listening when he was introduced and only caught the last part of his name, or if she decided Abe was too boring a nickname, or maybe she was just hungry, but the nickname has stuck for the last twenty years. Of course, Olivia was and still is the only person to use it.
When they were seven or eight, he decided to get back at her by calling her Olive. That nickname stuck, too, and theyâve been Olive and Ham since. But only to each other. They get highly offended if anyone else calls them that.
Last night was their seventh anniversary, and Abe proposed to Olivia, and she said yes. And how did she announce it on Facebook, you may ask?
People used to tell me âIf you like ham so much, why donât you just marry it?â So I am.
Shout out to Olive and Ham, who are still engaged and adorable and who are planning on getting married sometime next summer
