#see this is what i loved about coulsons line ‘you lack conviction’ #cause loki has all these big mighty thoughts and dreams of conquering and ruling #dreams of beating thor #and being his equal #hes a nasty #scheming piece of work and he’s proud of it #but when it comes to actually ‘winning’ #actually beating thor and ending their fight for good #loki cant do it #he cant lose his opposite #and i think it may be partly because of love #but also because (as he says himself) without thor there is no loki #he defines himself by thor #as light as thor is loki will be dark #and with no thor to beat #with no thor to win against #to compare himself to #to utterly oppose #loki is lost #he lacks independence in his conviction #since it goes hand in hand with thors own beliefs and convictions
